This week on Humans of Whanganui Regional Museum we’d like to introduce you to our Front of House Visitor Services Guru and Retail Expert…Anne Lovell.
No doubt if you have visited the Museum, currently located on Ridgway Street, you will have come across our warm and friendly Anne.
On board since 2010, Anne’s role at the Museum entails one part being Visitor Services Officer which means greeting the visitors who come from far and wide. She says she loves meeting people either local, national or international and chatting with them. Alongside this she manages the Museum Shop and Gallery and in this role she keeps the Museum shop stocked with interesting goodies and liaises with suppliers, artists and craftspeople. (…….we might mention she’s recently stocked up for Christmas buying so we suggest you pop in and check out the wonderful array of things in store!)
Born and bred in Wanganui (“I cant escape”) Anne has a family of three grown children and seven grandchildren – all local. She enjoys sewing and makes beautiful quilts and other wonderful fabric objects, some of which are for sale in the Museum shop.
Gardening is also a skill Anne has, and boasts a miniature orchard at her place, with no less than the following fruiting trees and plants; lemons, tanjors, cherries, mandarins, two kinds of grapes, passionfruit, nectarines, peaches, feijoa, two kinds of apples and four blueberries. When she isn’t pottering in her garden she says she enjoys watching a good movie.
Come on down to the Museum at Ridgway to see what is on offer for Christmas buying and experience being warmly greeted by Anne :-)
